Pear Tree April 2018

DSCF1438Maryanne Christiano Mistretta

“Good Friday is a day of hope. It is a day where we look forward to a brighter tomorrow. Many things have happened to change the course of our lives, but it has not shaken our faith.”  Rev Dr Peola Hicks

Entering the 10th year, Pear Tree has always been about a brighter tomorrow. When you follow us on Facebook, you see nothing but positive quotes. Good Friday is a day to reflect that — faith and hope. I’ve been blessed to work with so many amazing people over the years; those who I helped write books and those who have made my Learn & Listen series what it is today. We keep moving forward, in a business that has created jobs for people and have made many dreams come true, in our own Pear Tree way.

Thanks to everyone who has had faith in my programs and book editing. Want to be a part of the Pear Tree journey? Call 908-276-1514 during business hours of noon to 6 p.m.; or email maryannechristiano@gmail.com anytime!

THE WIN!

The “WIN” is back! Congratulations to Liam Cusack who won a beautiful lucky coin purse last month. April’s win will be a Lucky Women’s Wallet of Prosperity!

To WIN this the wallet, send an email to maryannechristiano@gmail.com with the word “WIN” in the subject line; and answer this question: What does the word “Hope” mean to you?

Vocalist Charlie Fusari and Maryanne Christiano-Mistretta

“Please go for your dreams. Whatever your ideals, you can become whatever you want to become.” … Michael Jackson

Pear Tree’s “Learn & Listen” series kicked off the year right with a wonderful tribute to Michael Jackson at the Elmwood Park Public Library. We were so lucky to get Charlie Fusari to perform before he went back to college. It was a full house and we had a great time. It was super cool when Charlie dedicated “Ben” to me at the end of the show. Then he had an encore and performed one of his originals!

Meanwhile, I’m having a blast writing and editing for Renna Media (http://rennamedia.com/). I got to reconnect with Ty Stephens, who I interviewed back in my days at The Montclair Times. Check the website for the Chathams issue – Ty is on the front cover doing a workshop at the Chatham Playhouse. It was fun seeing Ty again.

Aside from the Learn & Listen series, Pear Tree is still going strong on a part-time basis with other lectures, book signings, and ghost writing/book editing.

Lately I’ve been helping a client edit her Christian blog, which is extremely inspiring. Perhaps I can help you too?

Pear Tree January 2018

DSCF1163Happy New Year from Pear Tree Enterprises

“A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”–Albert Einstein

When you think about the new year, I’ve learned it’s a wonderful thing to write down your goals. Interesting that for 2017 I made a list of everything I wanted to accomplish — all but three happened! It’s been an incredible year and one I am hesitant to say good-bye to! With all the great things that have happened for Pear Tree, the biggest was the expansion of the “Learn & Listen” series, which is now being made into a documentary.

And the final icing on the cake, was becoming the new editor for Renna Media: http://rennamedia.com/

In the words of Joe Renna, “It’s not a job, it’s a lifestyle.” And what a great lifestyle it is! This month my introduction as editor for 21 New Jersey newspapers will be out; and I am blessed that I had the opportunity to mention “Learn & Listen” in all of them!

Aside from the Learn & Listen series, Pear Tree is still going strong on a part-time basis with other lectures, book signings, and ghost writing/book editing. Would you like to try something new in 2018, like writing your first book?  Contact Maryanne Christiano-Mistretta today at: maryannechristiano@gmail.com

Pear Tree November 2017

DSCF0398

Maryanne Christiano-Mistretta, featured poet at All About Eve Arts Festival

“Go after what you really love and find a way to make that work for you, and then you’ll be a happy person.” — Tom Petty.

Once again, we’re at that time of year where we reflect on thankfulness. Last month brought many things to be thankful for. The month began with the All About Eve Arts Festival (http://www.njrep.org/plays/allabouteve.htm). I was humbled and extremely honored to be one of the 50 featured poets, thanks to Gregg Brown, aka Gregg Glory of the NJ Poets Society.

Then the month ended with a wonderful business trip to Atlanta for a trade show (since my day job is Associate Editor at Dentistry Today magazine). During my down time, I was thrilled to check out Herman’s Hermits, featuring Peter Noone at Atlanta’s City Winery, as well as some acoustic music at Atlanta’s Hard Rock Cafe.

I’ve also been spending time focusing on Pear Tree’s “Learn & Listen Series.” We are currently in the process of making a documentary about the series. We have some incredible new talent on board, such as Anna Oh (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrvTXk99Lrg) Rob Fusari (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nh1N50LfhEw). And the series is now being managed by Jayne DiGregorio and Rich Timberlake.

What are you thankful for? Pear Tree always loves to hear from our readers!

I’m very excited that “The Gypsy Smiled” will be published later this year by GenZ Publishing. I’ve also been writing for New View Media and Vitamin Retailer Magazine. As well as book editing. Please note, there is now a “waiting list” for book editing/ghost writing! Life is good!

NOTE: Due to a highly productive schedule, Pear Tree had to cancel some lectures this summer. Pear Tree apologizes for any inconvenience. Very special thanks to Stephen Fuller for stepping up to plate and presenting some of the Pear Tree Learn & Listen series for me. To find them, please visit his website: www.fullersounds.com

Pear Tree – September 2015

SAM_8265Maryanne, proprietor, enjoying birthday!

August is not only my birthday month, but always the celebration of Pear Tree, which began August 2008. Pear Tree is now on its seventh year! It’s been truly amazing! ❤

“Upon awakening, let the words Thank You flow from your lips, for this will remind you to begin your day with gratitude and compassion.” – Wayne Dyer

Rest in peace, Wayne Dyer. What a loss. Reading his positive affirmations every single morning was a big part of my life. He was a great contribution to this world and will be missed.

Pear Tree December 2014

SAM_6393Maryanne Mistretta, proprietor

“The joy of brightening other lives, bearing each others’ burdens, easing other’s loads and supplanting empty hearts and lives with generous gifts becomes for us the magic of Christmas.”W. C. Jones

A generous gift from the heart certainly brings the magic of Christmas to our daily lives. Why not make your dream (or a loved one’s dream) come true with the gift of writing? I’ve helped several authors get their books published over the years. I can help you too! Call Pear Tree today: 908-276-1514 and let the magic of Christmas begin!

And be sure to check out my blog (http://maryannemistretta.wordpress.com/) for updates and happenings. Or find me on Twitter and Linked-In.

Thanks so much to Viv for having me back at her super cool shop!

And here’s an interview I did over the summer on Totally Driven Radio with Bay Ragni. I had a blast, as Bay knew a lot about music.

“The Love of God and a Good Man” by Anna Kladivko. Anna’s memoir is still in the beginning stages. Anna lived a very exciting and oftentimes tragic life both in Spain and the United States. It’s an honor to work closely with her as she bares her soul in this candid effort.

WHAT IS ‘PEAR TREE ENTERPRISES’?

Often I’m asked, “What exactly is Pear Tree Enterprises?”

In short, Pear Tree Enterprises is a business I started back in August 2008. I registered the name in February 2009 to make what I do more than just “freelance” work. The work I do is mainly book editing, writing, copy editing and proofreading. But I also manage entertainers! Being a creative person who loves all areas of the arts, that is not so far-fetched. I give each client the individual attention they deserve by using time blocks. To see how satisfied Pear Tree clients are, please read the testimonial section.

In addition to all of the above I’ve also dabbled in personal assistance and modeling and always welcome more work.

I hope this answers your questions and I look forward to doing business with you!
