BIO

Maryanne Christiano-Mistretta has been writing professionally since 1995. She’s a self-employed award-winning journalist, author, public speaker and ghost writer.

She’s the lead market editor of DiningOut magazine, Bergen/Hudson County New Jersey edition.

Her work has appeared in The Paterson Press, Westfield Alternative Press, Millburn-Short Hills Alternative Press, South Orange Alternative Press, Maplewood Alternative Press, Suburban Essex, The Patch, The Montclair Times, The Jersey City Independent, Skinny News, NJ Health & Fitness, The Aquarian Arts Weekly (which was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, April 2012), The Westsider, The Chelsea Clinton News, music.com, Tattoo Review, Punk Magazine, and Exit, to name a few.

Her health column “Here’s to Your Health” has appeared in The Patch Online. She’s also the former editor of NJ Health and Fitness. She’s the current editor of “Dining Out” (Bergen/Hudson County edition). Maryanne has interviewed health celebrities such as Oleda Baker, Paul Nisson, Carol Alt, David Wolfe and the late Nicholas Gonzales. Maryanne has spoken on healthy eating in many New Jersey libraries.

Maryanne’s first book “On the Guest List: Adventures of a Music Journalist” (memoir) is available on Amazon. Her second book “Love Cats” (fiction) is available on Amazon and Kindle.

She is also the founder of the non-profit organization R.O.A.R. (Respect Our Animals’ Rights) and volunteers for various organizations.
