Pear Tree – April 2023

At my favorite “vegan option” restaurant, Turf, Surf, and Earth, Sommerville, NJ

“Love the life you live. Live the life you love.” — Bob Marley

When friends ask “How are you?” I can honestly say, “Living the dream.” Each day I’m doing something I love. Whether it’s writing, public speaking, cat sitting, or any of my other creative talents, the days are fast and fulfilling. When I wake up in the morning I wonder what kind of magic will happen today?

And, totally unrelated to business, it’s a dream come true to be in the new Ian Hunter video, “I Hate Hate.” You can check it out on You Tube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ju3LSY_TPo) I’m around 2:52. I twirl, holding a Mott the Hoople umbrella. You may want to pause to see me because it happens fast!

Want to be part of the magic? See the What Can I Do for You? section below!

Let’s create together!

And be sure to check out Omni Publishing early April, to get my latest book, “So You Think You Know the Jersey Shore?” https://omni-pub.com/

Pear Tree September 2021

Maryanne Christiano-Mistretta, Pear Tree proprietor

“The point of power is always in the present moment” — Louise Hay

Whether I’m writing or editing or doing a presentation or modeling or being a brand ambassador or extra in a film or celebrity handler, all the things I do add up to a very cool career. It’s kind of annoying when people tell me to “relax” or that I work too much, when none of these things really feel like work! (To be honest, the “work” is getting the gig, the rest is a breeze!)

Whatever you do, do it with passion and embrace the power of the present moment–on the weekends, vacations, or even down time. Being present means being alive!

WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU?

Shoot me an email at: maryannechristiano@gmail.com

I’m available for ghost writing and memoir writing, blogging, editing, essays, and Facebook updates. And public speaking, as well as working events tables at trade shows such as Chiller and Comic Con. AND, back from what I did in 2009 — I’ve re-added “personal assistance.”

Rates are reasonable, and the first hour phone (or in-person) consultation is free to potential new clients. Every client who uses Pear Tree services will be featured in the newsletter (unless for whatever reason they don’t want to be in the newsletter, as privacy is respected).

Currently working on my next book. Shh! It’s a secret!

Pear Tree — September 2019

DSCF4007

Don’t let the summer slip by without doing something hot for your career! Call Pear Tree today for blogging, editing, ghost writing. Or book one of my talks for your school, corporation, or library! (See what’s available below.)

This summer has been super; filled with love, friendships, sun, and music. Yet, there’s always time to help people write their books! Is book writing a passion of yours? If so, contact me for a free consult. Let’s work together and help you get your book published! If we start this summer, you may have your work published by Christmas!

Recently, Next Century Publishing, who published my first two books, “On the Guest List: Adventures of a Music Journalist” and “Love Cats” folded. That means both books are out of print. The good news is, I’m currently shopping “Love Cats” to publish a second edition! “Love Cats” has been a very hot item lately. The Amazon stats jacked up, and I’ve been getting phone calls, “WHERE CAN I GET THE BOOK?”

Unless you want to pay a high amount of money for it, hang tight, because I’m determined to get a second edition out. AND, as always, portions of proceeds will go to various animal groups. By the next edition of Pear Tree, I may have an answer!

WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU?

Do you want to be a part of the Pear Tree High-Five Tribe and make your dreams come true?  Would you like to book a program, or get help writing your book (or blog or Facebook page)? Become part of the Pear Tree journey! Call 908-276-1514 during business hours of noon to 6 p.m.; or email maryannechristiano@gmail.com anytime!

Feel free to contact me regarding my services (writing coach, writing, ghost writing/memoir writing, book editing, blogging, typing, public speaking/lectures, wedding officiant, and over 50 model) at: MaryAnneChristiano@Gmail.com.

Rates are reasonable, and the first hour phone (or in-person) consultation is free to potential new clients. Every client who uses Pear Tree services will be featured in the newsletter (unless for whatever reason they don’t want to be in the newsletter, as privacy is respected).

Pear Tree August 2018

DSCF2455You can count on Pear Tree for good old fashioned service!

“Professionalism shouldn’t be defined by a persons paycheck, role, or title. It should be defined by a persons work ethic.” — Janna Cachola

When my husband and I spotted these ancient telephones in Nyack, New York (above), I saw this as an appropriate photo op for Pear Tree Enterprises! I’ve always prided myself in good old fashioned work ethic. My clients have me 100 percent. While I’m working, I am not on my cell phone; I am not texting; and I am certainly not juggling two tasks at once. My clients have my undivided attention when I’m editing or presenting a talk.

But there is something else not many know about Pear Tree. Whoever hires me for my book editing/ghost writing services, gets free time for their birthdays and Christmas. Ask me about it when we work together! How old fashioned is that? I’d say it’s better than a baker’s dozen.

Last month I finished  “I Don’t Want to Be Like You,” which holds as strong anti-bullying message. And now am shopping it around to publishers. I’m also working on helping a man write his memoir, doing some writing for R&S Landscaping (newsletters and updating their FaceBook page) (https://www.rscape.com/), and continuing with bookings for my presentations (see below).

Do you want to be a part of the Pear Tree journey?  Would you like to book a program, or get help writing your book? Become part of the Pear Tree journey! Call 908-276-1514 during business hours of noon to 6 p.m.; or email maryannechristiano@gmail.com anytime!

Pear Tree April 2018

DSCF1438Maryanne Christiano Mistretta

“Good Friday is a day of hope. It is a day where we look forward to a brighter tomorrow. Many things have happened to change the course of our lives, but it has not shaken our faith.”  Rev Dr Peola Hicks

Entering the 10th year, Pear Tree has always been about a brighter tomorrow. When you follow us on Facebook, you see nothing but positive quotes. Good Friday is a day to reflect that — faith and hope. I’ve been blessed to work with so many amazing people over the years; those who I helped write books and those who have made my Learn & Listen series what it is today. We keep moving forward, in a business that has created jobs for people and have made many dreams come true, in our own Pear Tree way.

Thanks to everyone who has had faith in my programs and book editing. Want to be a part of the Pear Tree journey? Call 908-276-1514 during business hours of noon to 6 p.m.; or email maryannechristiano@gmail.com anytime!

To WIN this the wallet, send an email to maryannechristiano@gmail.com with the word “WIN” in the subject line; and answer this question: What does the word “Hope” mean to you?

Pear Tree February 2018

DSCF1247 - 2

Vocalist Charlie Fusari and Maryanne Christiano-Mistretta

“Please go for your dreams. Whatever your ideals, you can become whatever you want to become.” … Michael Jackson

Pear Tree’s “Learn & Listen” series kicked off the year right with a wonderful tribute to Michael Jackson at the Elmwood Park Public Library. We were so lucky to get Charlie Fusari to perform before he went back to college. It was a full house and we had a great time. It was super cool when Charlie dedicated “Ben” to me at the end of the show. Then he had an encore and performed one of his originals!

Meanwhile, I’m having a blast writing and editing for Renna Media (http://rennamedia.com/). I got to reconnect with Ty Stephens, who I interviewed back in my days at The Montclair Times. Check the website for the Chathams issue – Ty is on the front cover doing a workshop at the Chatham Playhouse. It was fun seeing Ty again.

Aside from the Learn & Listen series, Pear Tree is still going strong on a part-time basis with other lectures, book signings, and ghost writing/book editing.

Lately I’ve been helping a client edit her Christian blog, which is extremely inspiring. Perhaps I can help you too?

Pear Tree November 2017

DSCF0398

Maryanne Christiano-Mistretta, featured poet at All About Eve Arts Festival

“Go after what you really love and find a way to make that work for you, and then you’ll be a happy person.” — Tom Petty.

Once again, we’re at that time of year where we reflect on thankfulness. Last month brought many things to be thankful for. The month began with the All About Eve Arts Festival (http://www.njrep.org/plays/allabouteve.htm). I was humbled and extremely honored to be one of the 50 featured poets, thanks to Gregg Brown, aka Gregg Glory of the NJ Poets Society.

Then the month ended with a wonderful business trip to Atlanta for a trade show (since my day job is Associate Editor at Dentistry Today magazine). During my down time, I was thrilled to check out Herman’s Hermits, featuring Peter Noone at Atlanta’s City Winery, as well as some acoustic music at Atlanta’s Hard Rock Cafe.

I’ve also been spending time focusing on Pear Tree’s “Learn & Listen Series.” We are currently in the process of making a documentary about the series. We have some incredible new talent on board, such as Anna Oh (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrvTXk99Lrg) Rob Fusari (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nh1N50LfhEw). And the series is now being managed by Jayne DiGregorio and Rich Timberlake.

What are you thankful for? Pear Tree always loves to hear from our readers!

Pear Tree — September 2017

SAM_2907

Golden September — it’s a time to dream and a time to make those dreams come true. — James Kambos

“Dreams come true” seems to be the theme of my life. From time to time I look at my old paper journals, memory feeds in Facebook, and my old Pear Tree newsletters and it seems so many wonderful things have been experienced and accomplished.

I’m incredibly blessed for all the many people I have in my life; whether it’s love, friendships, or work — life just keeps getting better and better!

This month in particular, I look forward to having my third book “The Gypsy Smiled” published by GenZ on Sept. 15. Be on the look out for it!

Pear Tree — March 2017

To say I’m walking on air would be about right! I’ve been having a blast celebrating with my husband, friends and family.

My publisher is GenZ and the book will be available all over the world in three to six months!

What a blessing!
