The new year began with a wild ride! I signed a contract to publish my sixth book, “So You Think You Know the Jersey Shore?” which will be published by Omni Publishing.

I’ve had back-to-back lectures, as well as lots of fun on a personal level.

A few weeks ago I celebrated my 59th birthday. It was shortly afterwards that I realized that nothing intimidates me anymore. It’s liberating to know that you can simply walk away from anything that is unsatisfying to your being. You don’t need it! And on the flip side, you can GO FOR your dreams! During the past month, I’ve taken several business chances–I mean, really going for the gold! And I’m excited to see what will manifest. You can do it too — believe in yourself; we have to believe we are magic!

The Roaring ’20s

Are we roaring yet?

This month I chose a strong quote from a famous roaring ’20s musician, Louis Armstrong. I really like what he says here because it’s so true in life. You really don’t need what you don’t have. Be appreciative for what you do. During the pandemic many businesses took a huge cut, during what should have been the start of our generation’s roaring 20s. But that down time taught us, that we what we didn’t have, we didn’t need. It was a great time to hunker down with loved ones and go deep inside. And that’s how we make our biggest roaring comeback — with a deep breath from within.

Pear Tree November 2021

Counting your blessings is a practice that should be done daily. I do this every morning, when I write in my journal. There is always something to be grateful for, even as we age and make changes according to what is happening around us. Count your blessings each morning, and you’ll be fascinated by the magic that happens when you do so. Life is always full of surprises. Some not so good, but others miraculous! Keep your eyes open for the wonderment.

As we enter another month, there are more changes to Pear Tree. For the time being, I’m putting a hold on book editing, ghost writing, and journalism. I’m concentrating on more things that get me away from the computer. Moving forward, I am available for public speaking engagements, small acting roles in commercials and indie films, and over 50 modeling.

Letting go is beautiful. It’s about saying, “I have moved on to something that works better for me.”

When you work for yourself, you don’t have to bend over backwards to keep every client. Whatever the reason. A personality conflict. Using work tools that you’ve already mastered. Something is no longer an experience. It’s okay. You don’t have to burn bridges, but saying, “It’s time to move on” is not a bad thing. It means you are growing.

It’s kind of annoying when people tell me to “relax” or that I work too much, when none of these things really feel like work! (To be honest, the “work” is getting the gig, the rest is a breeze!)

Whatever you do, do it with passion and embrace the power of the present moment–on the weekends, vacations, or even down time. Being present means being alive!

How has your summer been? I’m totally loving it, especially now that places are re-open for live music shows.

Hey Gang! Three months ago I spoke about semi-retiring. Pear Tree is going strong on a part-time basis with some incredible things on the horizon. Just because I’m semi-retired, it doesn’t mean I’m turning my back on doors that are opening. Life is great that way! You never know what to expect.

Now that the pandemic is nearing an end, I am no longer doing ZOOM classes. Honestly, I am all ZOOMed out! I’m looking forward to, cautiously, doing public speaking and events again — LIVE!
