Hey Gang!

How has your summer been? I’m totally loving it, especially now that places are re-open for live music shows.

And guess what? It looks like Pear Tree is back in full swing! I have some live programs booked! Check them out below. And in the meantime, if you need anything, check out the “What Can I Do For You?” section, as I’ve re-added some old stuff! After a brief break, I’m ghost writing again. AND, for the first time since 2009, Pear Tree is offering personal assistance!

Rates are reasonable, and the first hour phone (or in-person) consultation is free to potential new clients. Every client who uses Pear Tree services will be featured in the newsletter (unless for whatever reason they don’t want to be in the newsletter, as privacy is respected).

Hey Gang!

Last month I spoke about semi-retiring and taking art classes, as well as studying to become a feline behaviorist. Both are going great! I’ve been getting nothing but 95 and 100 on my grades for feline behavior!

Pear Tree is still going strong, just on a part-time basis.

I am no longer ghost writing (only editing books that are completed), but I’m available for blogging and journalism. I’m also doing more modeling (yes, at 57!) and acting. There’s also public speaking via Zoom (see what I have to offer below), as well as publishing consulting.

While we are still in the pandemic here in the USA, we continue to be cautious. At Pear Tree, I’m happy to work with you via phone calls; or at your home wearing a mask and social distancing.

This has been a hard year for so many. But even during moments of struggle, do not give up on your dreams. Last week my husband and I took in a scared feral kitten. It was exhausting worrying how the kitten’s bill of health was. When we heard from the vet he was perfectly healthy what a relief! But the kitten was still frightened and skittish. However, one week later, the kitten is now trusting and playful, as a kitten should be. What does this tell you? That anything situation can change to a positive within a short time. All it takes is trust. Trust in God or the Universe. And trust in yourself. Times may be challenging, but that makes going for the gold even more rewarding!

This month I have something totally new! I’ll be hosting a motivational camp for middle school and high school students at Metta Casa in Scotch Plains, NJ. For more information, see below under EVENTS.

I’m also helping people ghost write their books remotely — and it sure is fun!

DSCF4776 Giving all of you a virtual hug, six feet (or more) away!

What is going on in our world right now does not seem real. I woke up this morning thinking, Today is April Fool’s Day, perhaps it was all a big joke that I’ve been dreaming.

But it’s not. It’s a sad reality for all of us. People are not only losing their jobs and businesses, but their lives. Whether you agree or not, what keeps me in focus is something my grandmother said to me a long time ago, “When your time is up, your time is up.”

I am home safe and healthy and able to pay my bills, which is very fortunate. But if I did get ill, like so many are, I take the attitude of gratitude, that I had a blessed life. I married the guy of my dreams, my books are in Barnes & Nobles store, and I had so many amazing experiences I never would have imagined.

If COVID19 has taught us anything, it’s to live life to the fullest because you never know what it will end, just like that. As soon as it hit New Jersey, all my lectures got canceled. But I am taking this time to write another book, and REST. I’m now going to a great chiropractor twice a week to heal my shoulder, which has been problematic the past six months, but I never had time before.

I truly believe that whenever something tragic like this happens, there is something good afterwards. I will be 60 in a few years, so I am old enough to know this is true. Stay focused on the positive, stay strong, and stay healthy.

It was so awesome giving my motivational talk on “What is Love” at The Neighborhood House Association. Connecting with strangers is amazing because when you think about it, we all have so much in common. Everyone wants basically the same thing — if not to be in love, to feel a connection of some sort, be it romance, friends, or family.

Letting people know that the real deal begins with YOU! You have to want love to get it.

Stop turning your back on love; start loving yourself first.

I just returned from a trip and am happy to be going on another one soon! Summer has been super; filled with love, friendships, sun, and music. Recently, Next Century Publishing, who published my first two books, “On the Guest List: Adventures of a Music Journalist” and “Love Cats” folded. That means both books are out of print. The good news is, I’m currently shopping “Love Cats” to publish a second edition! “Love Cats” has been a very hot item lately. The Amazon stats jacked up, and I’ve been getting phone calls, “WHERE CAN I GET THE BOOK?”

Unless you want to pay a high amount of money for it, hang tight, because I’m determined to get a second edition out. AND, as always, portions of proceeds will go to various animal groups. By the next edition of Pear Tree, I may have an answer!

It’s so amazing what great things can happen in your life by positive thinking, creative visualization, manifestation, and having a high-five tribe. By a high-five tribe, I mean hanging out with awesome people who are supportive and think as you do. “High Five Tribe” originally referred to an outdoor activity organization, but I’ve recently heard it used by positive people who surround themselves with like-minds.

In just one Memorial Day weekend, I’ve scored two blogging clients, and a book editing client. Why? Because people like to work with me. I’m well organized, dependable, and have the High Five Tribe mindset — I’m great, you’re great, let’s be great together!

There’s no room in my life — or mindset — for thinking in terms of jealousy or competitiveness. There are more than enough riches in the world for everyone.

Let’s work together and create a great day!
