Hey Gang!

How has your summer been? I’m totally loving it, especially now that places are re-open for live music shows.

And guess what? It looks like Pear Tree is back in full swing! I have some live programs booked! Check them out below. AND, for the first time since 2009, Pear Tree is offering personal assistance!

These last few months have been so hard for many. It’s easy to get into a rut and complain, especially when loved ones are at a health risk. But it’s vital to your health and the health of others you love to continue to live life to the fullest. If this year has taught us anything, it’s that you just don’t know when your time will be up — because healthy people are getting Covid too!

While I’m still blessed to be on this planet, I’m having a blast hosting my ZOOM classes, courtesy of both universities and libraries. The last of my Allfafa University series is in August, but I’ll be renewing in September. Stay tuned.

Several weeks ago I decided to turn off all news. I knew I’d find out if something was that important. I’ve taken this time off to pray for those who have been sick, or lost loved ones. I lost a good friend during April but not to COVID19. My dear friend, since I was a teenager, Vincent Bordogna, died of a heart attack.

As I said last month, these trying times remind us to live life to the fullest because you never know when your time is up, whether it’s COVID19, or just the way things are.

Focusing on the positive, I’m thrilled to say that my second book “Love Cats” has been picked up by Pink Flamingo for a second printing! It will be available possibly this month! And, for the first time, I’m using a pen name, Krystianna Mercury. Here is the cover reveal!

Pear Tree has also been back in business, remotely. Pear Tree January 2020

Welcome to the ROARING ’20s! 

“If you are not happy with something, you should change it. So I went to a lot of therapy, and finally, I am able to speak for myself. You are going to hear me roar.” — Katy Perry. 

With all I’ve accomplished creatively during 2019, I’m sad to see it go. Nevertheless, I am ready for the ROARING ’20s! God willing, it’s another decade to take my innovative ideas and bring them into fruition.

The decade ended on a high note when I gained Culture Sonar as a client. I’ll be writing music features for them beginning in January. One of my first interviews will be the incredible Brute Force!  It was exciting chatting with him on the phone for two hours. It’s super fun entering the next decade by going back to my roots as a music journalist.

Oh, and what’s up with that ferocious beast photo? That’s my late kitty, Derick. He was a real sweetheart of a cat and always had something to say. It’s three years since his passing, but of course he’s always in my heart. I’d like to dedicate the next 10 years to Derick, a time for all of us to ROAR!

Play time!

The past few weeks there was a major theme in my personal life–FUN! I’m so blessed to be married to such a fun-loving husband, Dennis. While we both have our careers, we always carve out some time for date nights; usually on a week night when there are less people around. And taking long weekends in the middle of the week. Why wait for Friday? That’s the rock star way, right? Live your life to the fullest, always. Don’t wait for weekends, holidays, and vacations, I’ve always said!

Business has been equally fun this past month. The greatest news is that my book “I Don’t Want to Be Like You” is now available on audio! Sara Stanton who reads it, has also done audio for other great books, my favorite being The Mediterranean Diet!

I’ve been doing Facebook blogs for two amazing companies, and just started helping a new client write her book.

It was super exciting to return to The Health & Wellness Show as a guest a few evenings ago. While I was the featured author, there were also two chiropractors. This event was fun and inspirational. We also sang some Christmas songs.

I trust everyone is as excited for 2019 as I am! It never fails, late December, people are either away, taking an extended holiday, or waited for the new year to get motivated! So Pear Tree is quiet during the last few weeks of December–then BAM! Everyone wants to write their book, book lectures, begin blogs, and so on. And I’m incredibly busy!

That’s why I decided that if anyone wants to start writing their book in 2018, I’m offering the old rates until Monday, January 7, 2019. Then rates are going up! (For the first time in two years!)

Half will go to CareBear Box (which benefits animals in shelters) and half will go to ROAR (which donates to various animal groups)! 

I also have some private events booked for seniors, antique clubs, women’s clubs, and corporations. I can do a presentation for your private group too.

November 2018 Pear Tree

I was blessed beyond belief to attend the Summit of Greatness 2018 in Columbus, Ohio, early October, and also spend some quality time exploring the city. The Summit was life-changing as I experienced the testimonies of so many amazing speakers. My favorites included, of course Lewis Howes, Amy Purdy, Jay Shety, Lindsey Stirling, and Dr. Mark Hyman (who I was very honored to meet!)

Upon my return, I was inspired to start creating my You Tube Channel “Be YOUnique, the Anti-Bullying Channel.” I’m not quite ready for an official debut, but it’s out in the open if you feel inspired to poke around You Tube. I’ll be hosting videos featuring motivational speakers, musicians, friends/family, and all around greatness!
