No matter how great of a person you are, it’s a fact that many will not like you or understand you.

This is why I continue to make my anti-bullying You Tube videos (link below in the anti-bullying section). It’s not just to inspire others, but to selfishly remind myself.

However, if you think about it, not being liked by everyone takes a huge amount of pressure off of you. Just be yourself and life works itself out.

We are all unique individuals and we all strive to be loved and accepted. However, that’s not always the case. Some don’t understand us, therefore cannot accept us. Nevertheless, we should all continue doing what we set out to do. Continue following your dreams and celebrating your differentness!

Through a massive amount of meditation, I was led to veganism last summer. It’s almost a year since I shunned all animal products. Fish was the very last to go, but after seeing a sweet octopus at a sea aquarium, I just couldn’t do fish anymore.

While many vegans judge others who still consume animal products, I try not to. This is my personal journey and path. Just like writing is my path.

The reason I began Pear Tree back in 2008 was to challenge myself. And that I did. During those years I became an author and public speaker. My traditionally published books can be purchased in Barnes & Noble stores.

It’s easy to work a full time job as an editorial assistant, or a part-time job as a cashier. It’s easy to be laid back and go to any job, whether it’s an office clerk or a chiropractor, get involved in gossip, and look forward to vacations. To me, no matter how much money you make, or how chill the job is, that’s not a life! I want to LEARN. I want to LIVE! And honestly, Pear Tree is the only source that provides me those opportunities. No two days are alike. I am blessed to have created something special that’s been going on both full time and part time all these years.

I began Pear Tree during the summer of the stock market crash, and Pear Tree survived a bad economy, Hurricane Sandy, and the Covid19 pandemic.

This is what speaks to my clients and peers–the longevity of Pear Tree!

Last week my husband and I bit the bullet and got a Smart Phone. SHHH!!!!! It’s not like we’re going to use it, it’s that we NEEDED it in order to get into the Billie Eilish concert, as paper tickets are becoming a thing of the past. But let’s not let reaching out via a phone call be a “thing of the past.” I’ve never been a fan of texting. Prior to this smart phone, I had another, several years ago–hated it, was glad to get rid of it. I truly don’t get the obsession with texting. And it’s not the way Pear Tree does business. The Roaring ’20s

Are we roaring yet?

This month I chose a strong quote from a famous roaring ’20s musician, Louis Armstrong. I really like what he says here because it’s so true in life. You really don’t need what you don’t have. Be appreciative for what you do. During the pandemic many businesses took a huge cut, during what should have been the start of our generation’s roaring 20s. But that down time taught us, that we what we didn’t have, we didn’t need. It was a great time to hunker down with loved ones and go deep inside. And that’s how we make our biggest roaring comeback — with a deep breath from within.

I’m starting off the new year with a bang of a quote by Morrissey. This quote resonates with me because I am the one who races in a supermarket cart like a little kid and sings songs in the aisles. Who cares if no one smiles at you. Just enjoy — your soul is watching. And being fun like that gives off great vibes to attract more fun in your life.

Doing what you love for a living, adds to that. Here are the things I am available for:

Giving is a beautiful part of life. And, of course, putting love into giving is a most wondrous thing. Giving and love go hand in hand. It’s especially cool to love what you do for a living. As I wrote last month, I’m no longer book editing or ghost writing. In fact, the writing portion of Pear Tree has been put to rest indefinitely. However, I am available for public speaking engagements, small acting roles in commercials and indie films, and over 50 modeling. I’m also available for lectures and event help.

Nevertheless, what Pear Tree once was, I will never regret. I’ve worked with some amazing people; and now in this new light, I look forward to what the future will bring!

Counting your blessings is a practice that should be done daily. I do this every morning, when I write in my journal. There is always something to be grateful for, even as we age and make changes according to what is happening around us. Count your blessings each morning, and you’ll be fascinated by the magic that happens when you do so. Life is always full of surprises. Some not so good, but others miraculous! Keep your eyes open for the wonderment.

As we enter another month, there are more changes to Pear Tree. For the time being, I’m putting a hold on book editing, ghost writing, and journalism. I’m concentrating on more things that get me away from the computer. Moving forward, I am available for public speaking engagements, small acting roles in commercials and indie films, and over 50 modeling.
